I would suggest metal and not fiberglass or any plastic material as it is toxic and flammable. n the event of a fire you do not want flammable material in the cockpit. I used a simple rolled aluminum sheet for a dash to cover the wiring and a simple 6 gauge analog instrument cluster mounted on a simple aluminum sheet and frame. I will look for a picture and forward if found.

actually go to following website ( cidiusmedia.com ) and under the video section you will see a thumbnail of a race drive walking in fog. Click on that video, it is a commercial for 944-spec.org. The black car #805 is mine and the dashboard, switches and gauges in the video are mine. Additionally it is a very cool 944 Spec video.

Here is the stock dash after you pull of the foam and vynil...it makes a pretty cool race dash...

I am guessing 10 lbs as I trimmed mine down to what u see... I am sure it was less than 20 before trimming as it is made of tin
