Hi Guys, I was taking apart my rear suspension today to check out bushings and mounting points.
During the process I saw that the mounting point for the rear trailing arm (alu) on the torsion tube is wallowed out.
Can this be repaired or do I have to change out complete torsion tube?
Can I use a heavy duty washer and weld it to the brackets provided it is in the correct spot?
I would prefer to do this since it is a pain to replace torsion tube and do complete alignment.

It seems to me the car will need an aligment if to you remove the trailing arm. As for the joint. I assume this is for the bold the holds the inside leg of the trailing arm to t-bar tube. These are ones in mid point of the t-bar.

Now from a strict rules interpretation these holes need to be to factor spec. Purposely ovaling out these holes would not be legal. Sounds like your are just worn. I never knew that could happen, but I guess it can. You need to restore them to the proper diameter and position to ensure the locate the trailing arm properly. I have no issue with weld repairing that are with a washer. However you must be able to show that the position and hole diameter is the same as stock.

So what I don't want to see are guys saying they have damaged holes and then reparing them in way that moves position slightly to make a more favorable suspension geometry. At tech inspection the question will be asked if the position is stock if there is any evidence of welding.

I looked at it again last night and it looks as though the holes may have been fabricated. The shape is more of a slot and it goes up and down (verticle). There were some plates covering them that were cut the same shape as the bracket so it was not visible with out removal. It appears that the plates positioned the bolt in the factory spots but I will have to look at that more closely.
The slots may have been made to allow camber adjustment at one time.

I will check to see if the original position is easy to determine. Other wise I will replace T-tube.
