Strange - we just had 4 guys order, and get 225 RA-1's from Frisby tire. They did not seem to have any concerns about availability when asked a couple of weeks ago.
I'll call and see where things are at now.
I'd echo Joe's comments. This class needs some stability, and that is outweighs the other concerns, IMO. This may change, and I will be open to reconsider it, depending on what happens. We need to keep an open line of communication with NASA regarding our concerns.
As one of the few who have driven the 225 vs the 205 back to back, I can say that prefer the feel of the 225 (yes, this is subjective). I say this having initially been in favor of the 205 RA-1 (vs. the 225 R-888). I found the shorter gearing of the 205 not to be favorable for the tracks that we run locally - required more rev-limit bouncing or short shifts (I understand this may or may not be an issue elseware, just my experience). Also, they make our cars look significantly under-tired. No other class runs a narrower tire than the base OEM for the car. These are not huge issues, but add to my preference.
Most important, is not making what is a major change in the face of so much uncertainty, and after so much damage caused by the last change.
