Why are 924 turbos not legal? They're legal in the 944 cup but I live in Northern CA and it seems that 944 spec is the only game in town. I just picked up a 1980 924 turbo and I want to come out and play!

This is one major factor.

$700 - 87 924S.. It would be cheaper to just buy this car than mess with a 924 Turbo.

Making our cars "low cost and equal" is a major goal for 944-spec. It seems for reasons listed her a 924 turbo does not fit well with that.

That said I would love to see a 924 Turbo in GTS 1 ! or PT

GTS is trying to boost numbers here in NorCal and would welcome your car. You'd have to look into their rule set as to which GTS category you would fall (944Spec cars are GTS1). I'd guess GTS1 or 2. Most of the GTS cars in Norcal are SpecE30's currently and both they and the 944Spec can supersize into GTS.

Alternativly as Ken said -- pick up a cheap 944 or 924S and come play with us.

(Either way come play we'll still welcome you)
