TOPIC: Rule Change Requests for 2016

Re: Rule Change Requests for 2016 8 years, 11 months ago #20065

I agree that it would make the cars more equal but it would effectively penalize those who run '88 cars as they wouldn't be able to run their Dme. If you start down that road, then you have to outlaw the 88 motor because it had more compression, control arms, spacers, wheels, aND so on.

I'm ok with a named manufacturer for the short shifter as it gives us all equal footing.

See, that's why we don't want to allow short shifters. The parts and prices just keep going up! We were talking about one specific manufacture but now you want more. The stock shifter can be fixed like the 44only part for just a few dollars.

I'm with Charlie, dme's are cheap from the junkyard, except the 88. To complain about costs of a dme while being ok with wheels and short shifters seems a little strange. We need to keep this a SPEC class and not an open class with a lot of options. Again, 944 cup has all these options in their rules and we don't want to become them with their costs.

I agree with Jeremy. You would almost have to outlaw all the '88 stuff to achieve true equality.

How do they keep going up? The price is still $90. Cheap insurance against a blown motor.

The part Alberto proposed is $130.
