It works great, have done it on multiple 944's and really makes the shifting work as you would want it to.
Have used it on my endurance race cars for the past 4 years with zero issues. Talking about 24 hour races, not 20 min sprints. Had it on street cars for years, again with zero issues.
Agreed on needing a rules change to be legal for Spec.
Not knocking it at all and no disrespect intended, i think it's a very innovative solution. I would love to try it, just have to stay within the rules.
I have no doubt that it would improve the feel of the shifter but what I meant is that eventually it could result in the failure of the plastic bushing in question. My reasoning is it would still be sloppy but the shorter throw would mask the problem while putting greater stress on the plastic piece that is the root of the problem.
