TOPIC: Steering wheel quick releases - best value/$?

Steering wheel quick releases - best value/$? 13 years, 11 months ago #9106

I've got a MOMO wheel and I'm looking to put a quick release in. What do you guys recommend? I want a bolt on, not a weld on type.

Thanks!

I installed one from NRG (their 2.5 version) for about $120 from amazon.

I have the expensive one from SmartRacing Products. It's bolt on to our standard column and adapts to the Momo Wheels.

I'll see if I can find the link for you.
It's more expensive than most but I liked its lock/release mechanism that allowed fast disconnect at any angle with out feeling for knobs buttons or anything else.

I went with this one from LTB:

Whatever you decide to get, it's a good idea to get one that you can release with one hand, in order to help speed the exit process in case of emergency.

Also, keep in mind that you'll need to get a steering column adapter in addition to the quick-release hub.

Gary, That one looks nice. What does the steering column adapter look like? Where does one acquire it?

The NRG and LTB releases are less than half the cost of the Momo quick release. Any opinions on the less expensive ones being just as good as the Momo?
