Timing belt covers should i keep it on or leave it off? I was just wondering what the majority is. What is the thought of leaving them on or off. The only reason I can think of is to keep debris for hitting the belts but a pain in in the but to check your belts also. thanks for any replies.

I've always left them on to keep debris, dirt, etc out. How often do you really need to check the belt tension in a hurry?

I've seen others leave them off without trouble.

I have run with out belt covers for almost 10 years. Never any issues with debris getting in there even when going off track.

I do however always run a stock front under tray. This keep stuff from comeing up from underneath and helps cooling and aero too. I would run covers without an undertray, but I think a under is more important in the first place. Rules do allow you to fab an undertray of stock size and shape.

I like it with no covers (front or rear) since it gives my quick access to see leaks, check belt tension. Change a belt or roller or check for noisy belts.
