Tyler fought hard through a couple of full - course cautions that bunched up the field late in the race to win his 3rd 944 Spec National Championship.
Palmer Started on pole, with Neal Agran second, and Charlie Buzetti in 3rd. Jim Fox was 4th, and Eric Kuhns was 5th. Agran, and Buzetti got the jump at the start, and slotted into the first 2 positions, with Tyler following in 3rd. Kuhns got by Fox in corner 1, only to give it back, and on more spot in corner 5. Agran held the lead for 4 laps, with Palmer and Buzetti trading positions, and a bit of paint. Kuhns hard worked his way back up to 4th, but was out of touch with the leaders until a full course caution, by which time Palmer had passed Agran. Palmer got an excellent restart, and held the lead, which he repeated in the closing laps. Kuhns and Buzetti had an excellent last lap battle, but Buzetti held onto the last podium position. Final results are still pending appeals.
Other highlights were Sudir Chikkara's run from 23rd, to 13th place.
Foxx's pit for a miss-fire, and climb back to 8th place was equally impressive.
Great turnout, great fun, and great racing. More Pics/video to come!
