2 events 2 broken ball joints... ? 14 years ago #8327

heads up steel A arm cars... I'm thinking after market ball joints should be replaced every year or every other. both cars were fixed during the weekend but what a pain for such a low cost part.

Interesting.

I have been running the same ball joints on my steel arm car since 2003. I wonder if there were just bad joints that failed.

How did they fail? Any pictures?

they both broke where the bolt goes through to hold them to the spindle (the smallest part. one of the cars had a small off before it broke the second one did not have an off.

I had two relatively new ball joints fail on my alu arms a couple of years ago. Both were the same age and both broke on the same weekend.

Probably from china

I have not had any failures since then.

There are at least two different versions of ball joints available. I had the cheap ones (low cost racing:laugh:). I "sold" one to Charlie. He called me on having the cheap one instead of the better version so I switched over to the better version and have had no issues.
