TOPIC: Manual steering rack

Re: Manual steering rack 10 years, 1 month ago #18140

I see why some de-power the power steering racks! Tie rod assemblies are 74 bucks a side, versus 200 bucks a side for manual!!! Pelican Parts has both.

I saw a post somewhere where a guy took a manual rack, drilled and tapped the ends to accept the power tie rods. Another post where a late offset car did the same and was able to use toe rods and ends from a different car, a golf maybe or something domestic.

I saw that article, handy fella, had a lathe. Most of us don't~! I have a spare manual rack, the 015, if anyone is interested in it. I do not have the mythical intermediate shaft though.
