I have recently purchased two 1988 944 NA's that I am turning into chump cars. One has option code 757, which means it is a "Special Model 944"... whatever that really means...

Because I'm turning these into race cars, there are MANY parts I am putting up for sale, in order to recoupe some of my cash outlay... hence this post...

The "Special 944" has outside door handles that are different from anything I've seen so far. They are not black or even painted like all the others I've seen.. These have a brushed stainless steel looking finish..

Anybody know anything about these? (I'll post pic soon).

thnx, tim.....

There was a Special Edition package on the '88 models that had 16" phone dial wheels, and a few other items. I don't remember any special door handles on the one Ray Freundt had.

This one has the 16X7 up front and 16X8 in back. I just added picture of the door handle. I'm just curious about the handles.. wouldn't mind selling them for a couple extra pennies if they are special.. (gotta fund this bad habit somehow)

It looks like a stock handle that someone stripped.

Option code 757 means....put it back together! It's a special model and thus not a good candidate for a race car. The Porsche gods WILL get you back.
I've only seen one 88SE. The car is local, very nice, and has a plaid interior. I've seen several 88 924S Le Mans special edition cars on the street.
