Check this out. I hear a tale of a storage place loaded to the hilt with 944 parts. I make the call and the guy says come on by. I stopped there tonight and can't believe all the stuff that's in there!! I'm going back for some motors tomorrow and I'll post up some more pics when I get back. I'll snap a few of the inside of this place, you won't believe it. The worst part is that is has to be cleared out by the 1st of november so these guys are scrapping most of it. Here's what I got tonight........

Well over 150 lifters. I have 6 good sets so far. I'll post more tomorrow night.

Cool, a whole stash of lifter for 944 Spec. In my experience used liters have a lower failure rate than new INA ones.

Put those lifters in oil, and turn them upside down for storage.

Ray is going to go down there tonight to scavenge with you. Can't wait to see what else you guys find!

Take those lifters and submerge them in Marvel Mystery Oil for 24+ hours. Then press the center pad that contacts the valve stem while they are still submerged. After 3-6 "pumps" the center should become firm and stop compressing. If you have some that don't firm up, use a surynge and inject some Mystery Oil into the oiling hole on the side. If they still don't firm up, the lifter is bad and should be tossed.

Continue to store the good lifters in the Marvel Mystery Oil.

Once I get the lifters cleaned up and checked out to make sure they pump up, I'll make them available to anyone who wants them here on the forum. I won't charge an arm and leg for them either.

I was back there again last night but forgot to take a cammera with so I don't have any pics of the inside of this place. I'm going back in the next few days so I'll try to remember to take it with me then.

I bought every good engine block that was there and a few transaxles too.

Got a few more parts today and I remembered my camera. So much junk, so little time.
They even have some stuff for the air cooled Porsche's too. It's a shame they have to scrap this stuff out. If anybody is looking for something, call them up and ask. His name is Harry and cell # 815-715-1676.

Holy Cow Batman - that place is a goldmine. Most of that stuff is worth more than scrap value with people restoring cars and need for parts from racers. Great Score Ken.

Someone should let John at A Part Above know about this place.
