DoH! I need to slow down some when reading posts! Did not see that you got the transaxle from a 924S, not the torsion carrier. My bad. The tranny has the short 5th in it.

So, I had the guy send me the vin. Turns out the car is a 78 924, that was converted to a 944 turbo look alike. Looks like I am on the hunt again for a transaxle. I am still going to look at the car to see what was involved in the conversion(if it has the later parts) I am going to drop the transaxle and check the numbers on it anyway. I may get lucky.

Picked up an 84 out of the desert today, for free(!), car runs, should be all the drivetrain and brake/suspension components I need. I am considering a Hanksville cage, should be at HPDE in October! This car is being done on a micro budget, I pay $4k a month in child support, but I pay!!! All I want to do is race, I have a couple of sponsors to pay entry fees, and tire rations, but everything else is on me, DIY, at home. I am Grass roots motorsports hero!

Keep up the work.
Sounds like you were made to race.
Of course not knowing you, I wont disclose what kinda crazy that makes you.
but our kinda people..
cages are most expensive
bolt ins dont fit well nor are good and few would meet nasa race specs, but fine for hpde
