Joey, I'll take both sets of cookies. I can get you sets of ABS offset phonies.
Short arms will need short tie rods.
The bearings are a different size on the 87-88 spindles.
The longer control arms mean less camber change during suspension compression.

I'll take your greenies!! One of the cookies is a little out of round? From sitting on a flat tire for five years in Joshua Tree heat.

So I have to use early PS tie rod ends? I have a few sets.

Will the bearing size matter if I am just swapping the LCAs out?

Sounds like another plus on the camber aspect of this 88.

This is what I found on the ten list forums,

Late Offset Cars (87-88 944) can backdate to early offset parts and early offset cars can update to late offset parts. In these cases the spindles, hubs and steering tie-rods must be changed along with the control arms can caster blocks. Also the wheels need to be changed to ensure the right offset.

If this is the case, I think I have all the parts I need, except for some early offset 15x7 phonies.
I have a beautiful brand new set of early LCAs, and I would hate to see them go to waste.

I thought you said you had an 88? You'll need ABS or late offset wheels.

If you are running steel A arms then you need to change the rear trailing arms to the early offset also. Stick with the cookies rather than the heavier phone dials.

Okay, here's some progress pics on the clean up. After some discussion, we have decided to run the '84 suspension front and rear. We have all the parts we need, so this is what we're doing. Assembly should begin this weekend. I'm so excited to be at this point.
