Hi All,

Does anyone know whether I have to get my car tech'd before each event, or is it not required because I had it done for the September event?

If you don't know, does anyone know who to ask?

Just don't want to waste time getting the car/trailer out of storage for a 10min inspection unless needed. I will obviously be checking over the car myself before attending the event.

Thanks

Jason

Thought I would reply here so the answer is publicly available for the next person.

The official word from the HPDE director, Barry Hartzel is "a car must be tech inspected for each and every event".

Thanks for the contact info Steve.

Wow and that doesn't include the self tech? On the east coast, a self tech was all that was done for HPDE.

Nope, everyone has to first self tech the car using the form below.

www.nasaproracing.com/forms/form_hpde_tech.pdf

and then take the car to be verified by one of the following places.

The only saving grace is that the inspection is free. Not a problem for anyone with a street car but for those of us that aren't it is just a pain!

Incentive to get licensed !

Actually - you should check out the situation with the log book. I believe that the Time Trialers are allowed to use either Log Book and Annual Tech or HPDE style tech. It might be that because there will be an additional person in the car than you, the tech is more stringent.
