Darren Griffith, JP Molnar and Keith Jones took the green flag on Saturday at NASA-AZ's WHP East track in the Small Bore race.

Darren had outqualified JP for pole position, with JP returning for his first racing action after shoulder surgery. Keith was in P3.

At the drop of the green, JP was able to pull out a small lead before the first turn, but Darren got a great run out of the first chicanes and was leading by the first carousel.

JP was not to be denied, however, with both of them running side by side for several more turns until JP was able to gain an advantage.

They quickly ran into the slower Spec Miatas ahead of them, and JP was able to make more effective passes through traffic to further his advantage.

Things progressed in the same fashion until JP had to retire on Lap 8 due to his transaxle sticking in 3rd gear.

Still lots of fun and action at the beginning of the race.
